SubstraTulum is a Materials and Design Laboratory based in Tulum, Quintana Roo, Mexico. We transform regional resources into objects and habitable spaces, connecting territorial observation, material research, computational design, prototyping, and digital fabrication.

Regional Caribbean resources: sargassum, mineral aggregates, fibers, and biomass. Sargassum is an emblematic resource within this platform —not the only material or an automatic answer—; we investigate what can be responsibly transformed, under what conditions, and for what uses.

Research, prototyping, and validation stage. As of August 2026, it is a pre-revenue company running a US$1M pre-seed validation round (per SubstraTulum’s one-pager, v2.1.0). No formulation, performance result, or spatial application is presented as a certified product or validated structural solution without documented evidence.

SubstraTulum’s physical testing and material characterization protocols are developed in academic collaboration with the FabLab at Universidad Anáhuac México (Mexico City). It is a joint research relationship, not a sponsorship or a product certification.

No. SubstraTulum does not yet report sales, orders, active commercial channels, or validated market traction. The projected revenue lines (retail, B2B supply, bespoke projects, applied research) are a future strategy, not a current offer.
